At CrossFit Athletic, we believe in constantly developing our clients’ strength and conditioning. We will always do this in the context of safety and biomechanical function. In doing so, we have established 4 different exercise programs to suit our members.
Base: For balanced fitness to get you fit and look great
As the name suggests, Base is set up to develop you into a healthier version of you. A strong foundation based on strength and appropriate conditioning is the goal of this level. Our aim is to teach you the correct technique for all foundation movements and help you understand and train under different energy systems.
Base programming covers postural correction, core stabilisation and the development of functional, well-performed movement patterns. There is a high level of coaching at this level, and the goal is to enable you to progress over time to the Climb program, if you so desire. How much time – is dependent on your goals, your training consistency and your lifestyle demands. Base training is all about gaining results while creating sustainable balance that enhances your wellness and promotes health and longevity for you now and well in your future.
Climb: For the athletic person looking to be challenged like never before
Once you have developed a strong base and have become proficient in the foundation movements, your next progression is Climb. This program will introduce you to Olympic Weight Lifting and more advanced gymnastic based movement patterns. A greater emphasis is placed on energy system training, and understanding your individual response to different work zones.
For people with a healthy lifestyle that incorporates nutritious eating, work-life balance and optimal recovery, Climb is the perfect training to progress and develop you as a CrossFit athlete.
Peak: For those athletes who wish to compete in the sport of CrossFit
Peak is for athletes that are looking to compete in the CrossFit Open, affiliate games days and beyond. Peak athletes must be experienced CrossFit athletes with a strong foundation of movement and good mechanics, combined with a lifestyle and commitment to train up to 8 sessions per week. Peak athletes have their own specific program that is monitored and assessed regularly to ensure each athlete is progressing optimally.
We have had great success with our Peak program, seeing CrossFit Athletic teams and individuals qualify for the CrossFit Regionals and CrossFit Games since 2011 and 2012 respectively.
Met Con: For those that want to get their sweat on
The Met Con program (Metabolic Conditioning) is a high intensity, boot-camp style, cardio burn! We are leaving out the heavy weightlifting, and going back to “old school” gymnastics, intervals and heavy breathing! If you are looking for this type of training or want to improve your overall conditioning, this is the class for you!
